The perfect surprise proposal
When Lennon first got in touch with me, he had one very important question to ask, and I was lucky enough to be part of making it happen. While they were on holiday in Cape Town, he secretly planned to propose to his girlfriend, Mika, during what she thought was simply a couples photoshoot at Blouberg Beach. To make the surprise even more believable, he convinced Mika that she needed to organise and book the session herself. She even messaged me, slightly annoyed that she was the one having to arrange everything, while Lennon and I quietly laughed because it was all part of the plan! We had our own little code words so I’d know exactly when he was about to get down on one knee and be ready to capture every emotion. With Table Mountain creating the perfect backdrop, Lennon asked the question, Mika said “yes” (of course!), and we were able to celebrate with the most beautiful engagement photos. Being trusted to capture such a special moment is one of the greatest privileges of being a Cape Town proposal photographer, and this surprise proposal at Blouberg Beach is one I’ll never forget.
