How far in advance should I book?
What time of day is best for an outdoor session?
What should I wear?
What happens if the weather isn't great?
Do you help with choosing a location?
How long will it take to receive my photographs?
Do you travel for photography sessions?
I'm not comfortable in front of the camera. Can you help?
I recommend booking as early as possible, especially if you're looking for a weekend date or during the busy summer months. If you're planning something at short notice, don't hesitate to get in touch, I may still have availability.
For the most beautiful golden light, I usually recommend scheduling your session to begin around 45 minutes before sunset. Early morning, just before sunrise, is another wonderful option, offering soft light and quieter locations. The ideal time will also depend on the location you choose, and I'll happily recommend what works best for your session.
There's no need to buy a whole new wardrobe for your session! I recommend choosing outfits that you already feel comfortable and confident in.
Soft, neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully, while it's best to avoid bright, bold colours, large logos and heavily branded clothing. Collared shirts, dresses and textured clothing often photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourselves. If one person is wearing a pattern, it's best to keep everyone else's outfits plain and complementary for a timeless look.
Once your session is booked, I'll email you my Pinterest inspiration board along with a few helpful tips to make choosing your outfits easy.
Cape Town's weather can be unpredictable, so I always recommend keeping an alternative date available where possible. If it's too windy for your chosen location, I may suggest a more sheltered spot instead. If we do need to postpone due to the weather, I'll do my best to reschedule your session, although alternative dates may not always be available, particularly during busy periods.
Absolutely! Whether you're looking for a beach, forest, mountain views or an urban setting, I'll help you choose a location that best suits your session. Together we'll consider the season, the time of day and the style of photographs you're hoping to achieve.
Every image is individually edited with care to ensure the highest quality. During busy periods, you can expect to receive your private online gallery within 3–4 weeks, while delivery is often a little quicker during quieter times.
Yes! I'm happy to travel for photography sessions and events. Travel costs apply to all bookings and are calculated based on the location of your session. I'll include these costs in your quotation, so there are no surprises.
Absolutely! Most of my clients tell me they feel exactly the same. My sessions are relaxed and natural, with gentle guidance throughout, so there's no need to worry about awkward posing. My aim is to capture genuine moments and natural interactions, allowing you to simply enjoy the experience.
