A relaxed maternity photoshoot at home & bakoven
There is something so special about documenting the final weeks before a new baby arrives, and this maternity session was no exception. Expecting a little girl, this lovely mom wanted to capture not only her pregnancy but also the beautiful bond she already shares with her son before they became a family of four.
We started the session at home, where everyone felt relaxed and comfortable. Home is often the perfect place for maternity photos, allowing families to enjoy genuine moments together in a familiar environment. Her little boy was full of curiosity and excitement, making for some incredibly sweet and natural photographs with his mom.
As the sun began to set, we headed to Bakoven, one of Cape Town's most beautiful coastal locations. With its giant granite boulders, small secluded beaches, and calm ocean, Bakoven creates a stunning backdrop for maternity photography. The evening light was absolutely magical, wrapping everything in a warm golden glow and adding a beautiful softness to every image.
Combining an at home session with an outdoor location is a wonderful way to tell the full story of this exciting chapter. From quiet moments at home to the breathtaking scenery of the Cape Town coastline, this session captured the anticipation, love, and excitement of welcoming a new little girl into the family.
